For those who are struggling with reading we have a variety of options to make your life more functional at variable distances. Tired of looking around the line in your bifocals? Want to have various ranges of near, intermediate and distance vision? The progressive addition lens, also known as a "no-line bifocal" may be the solution for a better appearance and improved functionality. For those of you who want to wear the smaller trendy frames we also carry "short corridor" no-line progressives designed for those small stylish frames. We also carry a variety of specialty lens choices designed for the office setting. The "Office Lens" is a popular option. Designed for your computer visual needs this option is ideal for those of you who spend at least 5 or more hours a day in front of a computer screen. By reducing the need for constant "re-focusing" you can work comfortably, longer and increase your effective working time. For information on Optical please Email: optical@evergreenvision.com

Follow-up visits to monitor your recovery will be scheduled as needed. Eye Diseases; Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetes If you have special eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, or complications from diabetes, you will require special attention to your eye care. We can effectively manage these conditions and prescribe the appropriate medications or, when necessary, arrange for surgery. We co-manage with surgeons and hospitals to assure your best overall care. People who have lost eyesight due to injuries or eye disease need special types of products to help them function as independently as possible. We offer a full range of these products through our office. Our paraoptometric staff is trained to demonstrate the use of some of these devices. They range all the way from a simple hand magnifier to a closed circuit TV system. In addition, we can direct those who have low vision problems to products that will help them carry on the day-to-day tasks that they need to perform. In some cases we can set up a program for the low vision patient with the National Library of Congress to receive "books on tapes", which is a service for the blind. Often, there are hidden and undetected visual skills deficiencies that interfere with learning. Eighty percent of everything a child learns is acquired through his or her visual system. According to the American Optometric Association, about sixteen percent of all children suffer from inadequate visual skills and up to ninety-four percent of children with reading problems have reduced visual skills. These visual skills dramatically impact ones ability to READ, WRITE, SPELL, CONCENTRATE, ETC. If you or your child exhibits any of the following behaviors, you or you child may be suffering from a problem with inadequate visual function and/or visual perception. These visual problems can contribute to learning disabilities or, in some cases, can be mistaken or misdiagnosed as learning disabilities.
